The government of Maharashtra undertook an ambitious tree plantation initiative to ensure the green cover of the state grows. The state government decided to plant two crore trees on July 1 across Maharashtra. According to the annual report of Navi Mumbai police, there has been a considerable increase in the number of road accidents in 2015, as compared to the year before. In 2015, 604 instances of road accidents were reported of which, around, 512 cases were solved. In 2014, on the other hand 516 cases of road accidents were reported, out of which, 446 were solved.
