I feel delighted to present to the readers the inaugural issue of Karnataka Protector magazine. My hearty congratulations to the team of Protector comprising of Anuradha Media and New Media for their dedicated efforts towards highlighting the citizen friendly initiatives of Karnataka Police through Protector magazine. I am confident that the magazine which has been widely appreciated will replicate its success as an informative magazine as it has in the states of Maharashtra, West Bengal, Bihar and CRPF in recent times.
The issue of safety and security is of utmost importance and is a key to the progress of any country. And, as the Honorary Counsel of Peru I strongly feel and value it all the more. In the last decade there have been serious security threats in the wake of terrorists attacks in Mumbai and several instances of bomb blasts in various parts of the country. Such instances are not just a threat to internal security and safety & security of citizens but also tarnish the international image of a country. Consequently, the trade and business with other countries is adversely affected.
The face of crime and criminals has also changed with advancement and adaptation of technology. And hence challenges of the police force have become more complex. Therefore, it has become important that citizens take active interest and work in coordination with the police.
Community policing is the need of the hour today. We need to focus and encourage it for the betterment of the society. Protector, as a magazine focuses on this community policing aspect and highlights the initiatives of police with citizens and their good work which often does not get its due prominence.
